Praying Hands of a Sinner

Praying Hands of a Sinner is a poster series created by making copies and scans of Albert Dürer’s Study of the Hands of an Apostle. In contrast to the original, Andre Canta comments on notions of living as a saint versus a sinner. By comparing the original image to the artist’s hands, Canta brings up conversations of race, identity, and oppressive institutions of power.
